Two of the most powerful women in Daytime TV are joining forces to launch 2 hours of back to back TV on OWN [Oprah Winfrey Network].
Six time Emmy Award winning Daytime Talk Show Host Rosie O’Donnell has moved to Chicago and into the Harpo Studio that was home to the Oprah Winfrey Show for 25 years. She has taken over the production offices and the very same stage where Oprah made daytime magic for many years. Even many of Oprah’s former production team members have signed on to help produce The Rosie Show.
Oprah Winfrey told ABC’s Cynthia McFadden that choosing Rosie to host this show on OWN was a no-brainer. “She was the only one that ever came close to beating me- I knew she had the goods.” The hour will be “full of fun” says Rosie, one celebrity per hour so there is time to do an in-depth interview, along with a little stand-up, audience games and just a fun filled hour.
Oprah Winfrey also returns to TV tonight following The Rosie Show, in her own Oprah’s Lifeclass. I am VERY excited about this one! Oprah credits an “AHA!” moment one day at her kitchen sink to the realization that this was her next chapter. Oprah says she felt like a “teacher- in the world’s biggest classroom for 25 years”- now she is going to share all that she learned over the years with all of us. Get your notebooks ready, Oprah is holding class!
Girls you know that I will be all about their hair and makeup- well, OK, I am really looking forward to hearing what Oprah has to say too. I was GLUED to her final episode and like many others, needed a few tissues during that hour. But she looked STUNNING in that final hour. A vision in pink, she was polished and looked simply stunning.
