How to Get the Most Out of Your Beauty Products

13 Oct

We all want fabulous glowing skin, but did you know there are little tricks that you can do to get the most out of your beauty products?

  • Add just a drop of Self Tanner to your favorite Night Cream and mix in well before applying.  The result= beautiful glowing skin every morning!
  • Rinse your face every morning with warm water BEFORE putting on your daily moisturizer, and apply the moisturizer to damp skin.  The result= warm water opens pores and allows the treatment products you use to actually penetrate the skin.
  • Always remove makeup at night BEFORE going to bed!  This is a ritual that should become a habit like brushing your teeth.  And if you use an anti-aging product that contains Retinol/Retinoid, use it now.  The result= many anti-aging ingredients make you sensitive to sunlight, and their key ingredients actually break down in the sun, so use them at night to get the maximum benefit.
  • Wake up with gorgeous skin by keeping your dinner low in carbs.  Consume any carbs early in the day, and try to keep dinner to lean chicken, or salmon with a low carb veggie like asparagus or zucchini.  The result= According to Dermatologist Dr. Nicholas Perricone, “When our diet’s high in glycemic carbohydrates, our features take on a soft, doughy appearance,” – so keep your carbs away from bedtime to avoid waking up like the Pillsbury dough boy!
  • SATIN PILLOWCASES! Let me repeat that ladies- SATIN PILLOWCASES!  These are a must. The result= softer fabric that won’t wrinkle your face while sleeping, and a BONUS they do wonders for your hair!
  • Keep your favorite eye creme in the fridge.  Apply it first thing in the morning.  The result= the coldness acts as a coldpak to cut down on any puffiness.
  • Your favorite treatment creme or expensive eye creme comes in a tube?  When you can’t squeeze anymore out of it, cut along the bottom of the tube and use q-tips to scrape product off the sides of the tube. The result= more bang for your buck!  There is still a lot of product that sticks to the sides of the tube.  Store your tube in a ziploc to keep it free of bacteria.
  • Some of the best cuticle cremes can be found in your KITCHEN! Old fashioned Crisco and Olive Oil both are fabulous choices for softening cuticles.  The result= a tiny dab of either will soak in and give a great inexpensive cuticle treatment.

There are always tips and techniques to help extend the life of your favorite beauty products, and I am always willing to share.  Stick with me girls- I’ll keep you in “the know” and always tell you the latest Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
