Tips To Maintaining Healthy Skin

If your skin always seems to come up in blemishes and blackheads, which means you struggle to keep a clear complexion, then don’t worry we’ll show you exactly how you can get healthy, hydrated and clear skin.

The most common area in which blemishes appear is the T-zone of your face. This section goes across your forehead and down your nose. If you often come up with spots on your forehead, which meant that the last time you were at your local salon, you asked the stylist to cut you a sweeping forehead fringe which was similar to one you saw on a Toni and Guy or Rush London model, then you might actually be making matters worse. It is very important for your skin to breathe, so hiding your spots behind a fringe not only makes your hair greasy, but it doesn’t allow your skin to breathe naturally. In addition, covering it up with thick make-up clogs up the pores and doesn’t allow the blemishes to heal naturally. The best solution is to apply a good spot cream and let your skin breathe for a day of two. Here are our top tips on how to maintain healthy skin.

1. Begin by keeping up a skincare regime. Start by using a cleanser to remove any excess make-up, then use a toner lotion to restore the ph balance of your skin. Finish off by massaging in a light vitamin enriched moisturizer. In the morning, exfoliate your skin with a face scrub before cleansing, and don’t forget to load up on the SPF before you head out the door.

2. Never go to bed with your make-up on. Your foundation will seep into your pores which will not allow them to breathe. This can cause mini infections in the pores which later appear as blackheads.

3. Try and drink plenty of water throughout the day. This will help to hydrate your skin and keep it soft, springy and bouncy.

Get In Line for the “Get In Line” Kit

10 Apr

Share

My pal Beth Bender hit it out of the park this morning as her Get In Line eyeliner kit was featured on the TODAY Show.  This isn’t the first time you girls have heard me rave about Beth’s creation, and hopefully you took her up on her offer last month when she offered MsBeautyBuzz followers an exclusive discount!

The Get in Line Eyeliner Stencil Kit

Her original GET IN LINE Smoky eye stencil kit was featured when Bobbi Thomas, Style Editor at NBC’s The Today Show did a segment on the resurgence of the famous “Cat Eye” eyeliner look. Bobbi loves Beth’s kit, and demonstrated its fool-proof ease of application.  If you aren’t a Makeup Artist, but you want to look like you employ your own personal makeup artist to get you red carpet ready everyday, then you NEED Beth’s kit!

From the looks of the late Amy Winehouse to the rocking Adele, celebrities are tucking Beth’s kit into their own makeup bags for quick and easy on-the-go application.

Hopefully it’s not too late for you to score your own kit.  They are selling out quickly since the segment aired this morning.  So head over to Beth Bender Beauty and check them out!

Tell them we sent you!

Stay Gorgeous Girls…..

25 Things I’d Rather Be Doing Than Taxes…

10 Apr

Every now and then I stumble upon another “blogger” that just really catches my interest.  And so I share with you one of my absolute favorites.  She never disappoints me and quite often her blog entries arrive just when I need them the most.  They offer a light-hearted look at some of life’s simple pleasures, and not so simple pleasures.  Read on for a fun and whimsical tale of tax hell-

With the April 17th deadline looming, the headlines are focused on those who haven’t filed their taxes yet.  People who they (whoever they are) have decided are procrastinators, fiscally irresponsible, disorganized idiots, and overall slackers.

They would be describing people like me.

I prepare the taxes for my household, or at least I should be right now.  As I publish this post, I’m down to 8 days.  Eight days that are going to go by in a flash.  Eight days that are most likely going to be the most beautiful spring days ever.   Eight days that I’m going to continue working, paying bills,  some form of housekeeping, sleeping, keeping up with the kids’ comings and goings, fitting in a blog entry or two, trying to fit in a quick jolt to the beach…and somehow fitting in those damned taxes I’ve been putting off.
