As the old saying goes “an apple a day keeps the doctor away”, so a new saying should be “a glass of red wine will give you more time”. Most recent studies have shown that there are quite a few health benefits to drinking red wine, including a healthy heart. But did you know that it’s actually good for your skin?

Red wine has a much higher concentration of polyphenols, including resveratrol, There are also several studies that show people who drink one glass of red wine a day have fewer precancerous skin lesions as well. The antioxidants found in red wine protect your skin from the damaging effects of aging, therefore leading to a natural glow.
Now, don’t go overboard. Too much of a good thing can be bad too. Don’t think that if 1 glass a day helps fight free radicals, that 3 glasses will make your 60 year old face look 20 again. Too much alcohol will dehydrate your skin, and the opposite will happen, your skin will age that much quicker.
So to keep your skin healthy and glowing, stay hydrated with lots of water, use sunscreen with SPF 30 DAILY (not just when heading to the beach), and enjoy that glass of red wine with dinner!
