If you’re obsessed with the new show “Revenge,” we hear ya!  The scenery of the Hamptons, the fashion and just the all around gorgeousness has sucked us in.  And the hair…how we wish our hair looked that perfect!  So, the BSW beauty dept. went out on a search to hunt down the staff member responsible for the “fabulous hair”.

 

Introducing…Roma Goddard, one of the show’s on-set hairstylists, shared some of her tricks behind Ashley’s perfect blowout.  Here’s what she had to say:

First she clips in hair extensions to add length and body.  Then she dampens Ashley’s bangs with natural mineral water, which adds moisture and shine.  She blows them dry with a medium-sized round boar bristle brush by putting the brush under the bang and blowing the air from the hair dryer directly down.  Then she separates Ashley’s bangs, creating a middle part, and blow drys them with the dryer to each side creating a more swept feeling which she calls “Brigitte Bardot bangs”.   Then she uses a 1/2″ mini flat iron to train the bangs in the perfect direction.

Then  Roma uses a medium-sized Marcel curling iron to candlestick-curl her hair.  Using a hair clip, she then sections the hair horizontally around her head and then takes 1/2-inch sections and wraps them around the barrel of the iron, away from the face. When Roma is done she finishes Ashley’s look with hairspray to tame flyaways.

Sounds simple enough…HA!

On towel dried hair, apply a medium hold styling gel like Nourishing Nectar, from Pureology’s Colour Stylist collection, focus on root and mid-shafts. On the ends of your hair, apply a thermal protective serum (I love Pureology’s SuperSmooth Elixir).

We loved the departure from the traditional gilded hue, and how the unique shade made her green eyes pop.

If you don’t have a rust colored eye shadow in your beauty arsenal you can sweep a warm brown shadow over your lids to create a similar look, and be sure to blend out any harsh lines. Apply mascara, but use a minimal amount of eyeliner so you don’t take away from the shadow’s effect. The result is effortless and unexpected—not overdone.

The Bender Sisters at BSW

Although Angelina Jolie is a stunning actress, activist and mother with a directorial debut later this year, she wasn’t always so sure she’d come out on top.  Her back up plan if she didn’t make it in Hollywood was actually quite unusual for such a beautiful gal…Funeral Director…!

“It sounds like this very strange, eccentric, dark thing to do but in fact I lost my grandfather and was very upset with his funeral,” she told Bob Simon in a recent “60 Minutes” interview. “How somebody passes and how family deals with this passing and what death is should be addressed in a different way. If this whole acting thing didn’t work out that was
going to be my path.”

Throughout the interview , Jolie now 36, spoke about her relationship with Brad Pitt taming her dark side.  “I’m still a bad girl,” she said. “I still have that side of me…it’s just in its place now…it belongs to Brad or our adventures.”

Angelina also made it very clear how lucky she is to have gotten past her dark phase.  “I went through heavy, darker times and I survived them,” she said. “I didn’t die young.  So I am very lucky.  There are other artists and people that didn’t survive certain things.”

Angelina’s mother, Marcheline Bertrand, was her inspiration.  She also credits her kids, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne, as a major source of normalcy in her otherwise chaotic life.  Through tearing eyes, Angelia said, “My mother was a full-time mother.
She didn’t have much of her own career, her own life, her own experiences…everything was for her children.  I will never be as good a mother as she was.  She was just grace incarnate.  She was the most generous, loving – she’s better than me.”

This interview was very touching and allows you to see the softer more real side of Angelina Jolie.  She too walks with grace like her mother.  She has come full circle since she started her path in Hollywood and BSW is loving this beauty inside and out!

There’s a lot of love in the world for Giuliana Rancic.  Since the 37-year-old E! News host broke the news Monday morning on NBC’s Today Show that she had breast cancer, there’s been an outpouring of support from stars and fans alike.  Her hubby Bill, 40, tweeted Monday: “Thank you for all your love and support today. G is reading  all your messages. She will win this fight, I PROMISE, and be back  better than ever.”

Her “E! family” released a statement that they were sending their  “love and support” to Giuliana and applauded her “for sharing her recent  breast cancer diagnosis in the hope that it will encourage women  everywhere to take necessary and preventative measures.”

“Giuliana has chosen to talk about her breast cancer on E! News [Monday night] prior to her lumpectomy later this week,” E!’s statement  said. “We are grateful that thanks to early detection Giuliana is  expected to have a swift and complete recovery.”

The Style Network, which airs the couple’s reality show Giuliana & Bill, echoed E!’s sentiments with their own statement: “We are sending our  thoughts, love and support to Giuliana, Bill and their families during  this difficult time.  Giuliana has always shown great strength and  courage in sharing her challenges with health issues facing so many  women.  We are hopeful that with the early detection she will have a  complete recovery and that her personal journey will continue to be an  inspiration and education for women everywhere.”

In addition to countless fans sending their well wishes to Giuliana,  celebs took to Twitter to send their support. Bravo’s Andy Cohen sent “a lot of love to Giuliana Rancic,” while Angie Harmon tweeted, “We all support you 100 percent!  You are not alone and we all love you.  You and yours are in our prayers!”

“It puts everything in perspective,” Bethenny Frankel said. “Giuliana and Bill, love and prayers are with you.”

Giuliana’s Fashion Police cohost Kelly Osbourne tweeted:  “I just want you to know I love you and that I’m thinking of you. You  are a strong woman and you’re gong to beat the sh*t out of this cancer!”

“Take a second to send good wishes to Giuliana Rancic,” Ryan Seacrest tweeted. “She’s had a tough couple of days. We’ll all be with you through surgery, Jules! Love you.”

Lea Michele sent her love via the microblogging site, echoing Osbourne and pointing out that Giuliana is “a very strong woman.”

First-time mom January Jones got back to work on the Los Angeles set of Mad Men on Monday.

It’s the first time the Emmy-nominated actress, 33, has been  photographed since welcoming son Xander Jones Sept. 13. In period  costume as Betty Draper, the emotionally reserved ex-wife of protagonist  Don Draper (Jon Hamm), Jones covered up her post-baby bod in a floral 1960s-style mumu and flats.

Jones has yet to reveal the identity of the baby’s father — even leaving the father’s name off the baby’s birth certificate.

Her past exes include Saturday Night Live‘s Jason Sudeikis, singer Josh Groban and Ashton Kutcher.

Mad Men costar John Slattery gushed about little Xander two weeks after his birth. “I’ve seen a picture of the baby. He’s beautiful,” Slattery told Us at the Rape Treatment Center’s Annual Brunch. “She’s in love with that boy.”
